In the years since Earth Day, something weird and wonderful has happened: we ingenious humans figured out how to tread more lightly on our planet, even as we become more numerous and prosperous over time. This happy phenomenon is most advanced in the richest countries, but it’s spreading around the world. Almost nobody anticipated that it would happen, and even today very few people are aware that the apparently unchallenged trade-off between human prosperity and the state of nature has been eased.

有人说这是宾语从句，有人说是表语从句，还有人说是同位语从句;
我的观点，叫啥都可以，毕竟语序没有影响，我偏向于叫表语从句。
关键点：the trade-off has been eased权衡已经缓和了。
也就是说，不一定非要用环境的破坏来换取经济的发展了。
例句：The trade-off between work and private life has been eased.
工作和私人生活之间的权衡已经缓和了。
也就是说，不一定非要用私人生活来换取工作了 。
用学术的话来说就是：不是二元对立了。
