美国顶级公立高中黑人，拉美人和亚裔的人数非常少，白人占到了绝大多数，哈佛大学的歧视性招生政策被披露以后更是引起轩然大波。而且精英学校已经形成一套隐秘而完美的歧视性招生政策。比如，哈佛会优先录取优秀的棒球或者橄榄球运动员或者校友的孩子。这里貌似没有对于有色人种和穷人家孩子的歧视，但是哈佛校友大多是白色的富人。即使某些学校在公众的压力下增加了一些有色人种的招生数量，但是这种系统性的招生政策歧视才是应该重点关注的。
